Entety (Usa) reissue :
"Little-known California death/grind pioneers Entety are given a new lease on life with this re-issue of their early 90's material. Cadaveric Necrogrind is comprised of two demos [I think they're demos, anyways...the accompanying information is sketchy, at best, and there's no info about Entety online that I can find], the four song Necrogrind, and three songs from a unreleased session called "Into the Desolate" . Entety are pushed as being from the same scene as Fear Factory and Brujeria, but Entety is far beneath either of those bands in both status and tuning [well, maybe not Brujeria], and far above in terms of sheer musical weight.
The songs are fast, gurgling, grinders with more than a hint of Suffocation in the few riffs that I can make out. The production values are taken straight from early Carcass and the mix plows out of the speakers as single unit. The guitars are muddy, fast and heavy, with a sound reminiscent of the early Earache grind bands, and make good use of effects [phasers in particular] to add depth and texture to the songs. They improve both tonally and sonically on the "Into the Desolate" material, but still never rise up much in the mix. Interestingly enough, both guitarists are great soloists, taking the Kerry King/Trey Azagthoth style to an extreme, sometimes soloing straight through verses under the hideously low [and electronically "enhanced,"] vocals.
All in all, a totally unecessary, but enjoyable addition to your collection, especially if you miss the old Carcass/Suffocation stuff."
